Dan Youra president and CEO of the Olympic Peninsula Travel Association and Executive director John Snyder have been touring the Olympic Loop seeking support for a comprehensive 5 year Olympic Peninsula marketing program designed capitalize of the media attention taking place in Vancouver up coming winter Olympics and well as providing solid 365 day a year themes to attract visitors to the Olympic Peninsula and improve the regions economy.

John Snyder Executive director of the 75 year old organization who is seen pointing to the display documenting OPTA's history said " We are very passionate about helping this area both Dan and I have strong ties to the Olympic Peninsula and are working hard to help local city, county and state government officials as well as private businesses find solutions to the recent problems at hand here on the Olympic Peninsula.

The Olympic Peninsula economy has been under fire with the Ferry problems in Port Townsend and the closing of the Hood canal bridge in 2009 we are here to offer alternative ways to attract people here that are not currently being used on the Olympic Peninsula.

For 75 years our organization has represented the entire Olympic peninsula and even with several organization having attempted to duplicate our efforts we are still here. Our entire history has consisted of one thing attracting people to the Olympic Peninsula. If you have a business or are a city or government official looking for new ideas on how to benefit you community we want to talk to you. OPTA will show you how we can help overcome the current problems the Olympic Peninsula now faces and how our organization can and will help."

The Olympic Peninsula Travel Assoc. is a non profit Olympic Peninsula marketing association that was formed in 1933 by a small group of prominent Olympic Peninsula businesses owners. This organization is recognized as one of the groups originally involved in making the Olympic Peninsula a nationally recognized vacation destination and has been commended by prominent government leaders such as Lieutenant Governor Brad Owens and Democrat Majority Leader Lynn Kessler. For 75 years OPTA still carries on the same traditions of promoting the Olympic Peninsula. The OPTA's triangular shaped logo is known as "The Welcome Sign of the Olympics" those establishments that bear this logo is a travelers assured of courteous, prompt and polite service. OPTA’s hallmark phrases like "Come tour the new Olympic Loop" or "Come to the Olympic Peninsula the last great frontier" is a representation of it’s commitment to help attract visitors to the Olympic Peninsula.
