Chicago TechPath Alliance Launches to Bridge the Tech Talent Gap and Empower a New Generation of Professionals
Chicago, IL - February 19, 2025 - As Chicago strengthens its position as a leading tech hub, businesses face growing challenges in finding skilled, job-ready professionals. Wevise, a nonprofit empowering individuals through mentorship and career development with its mentor-matching platform, has launched the Chicago TechPath Alliance to address this critical need. The Alliance brings together companies and nonprofits to offer an innovative, six-month program designed to build a sustainable talent pipeline while fostering a more inclusive and representative tech community. Key partners include Per Scholas, Code Your Dreams, Blacks in Technology, among others. Participants will receive mentorship, attend career-focused workshops, and develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in today's competitive workforce.
"The Chicago TechPath Alliance bridges the gap between untapped talent and the businesses that need them," said Janice Levenhagen, CEO, Wevise. "It's not just about finding candidates-it's about preparing them with the mentorship, training, and support they need to excel in high-demand roles."
Why Now - Inclusion as an Advantage, Not an Afterthought
Chicago's tech industry is booming, but barriers like limited access to networks and career guidance prevent many aspiring professionals from seizing these opportunities. The Chicago TechPath Alliance tackles these challenges by providing businesses with access to job-ready talent and to a broader pool of talent, rich in unique perspectives and experiences.
"Mentorship is a game changer," said Brianne Caplan, Founder and CEO for Code Your Dreams. "This program equips participants with not only work-ready skills but also the confidence, connections, and soft skills that come from personalized guidance."
