The 2025 Cancer Survivor Celebrity Kickball Fundraiser Tour Kicked Off in New Orleans
New Orleans, LA - February 17, 2025 - The 2025 Cancer Survivor Celebrity Kickball Fundraiser Tour made a vibrant stop in New Orleans, LA, this past weekend, bringing the community together at St. Augustine High School.
Organized by Dominic Smith, widely known as "The Black Bon Jovi" aka "The Cancer Killa," alongside former NBA superstar Bobby Simmons, the event aimed to spread positive energy and support to those in need.
The event saw an overwhelming turnout, with neighborhood kids and community members coming together for a day filled with fun, unity, and hope. Dominic Smith expressed his gratitude to the sponsors who made the event possible: AT&T, The American Cancer Society, Mind Set Inc., St. Augustine High School, The Boys & Girls Club, and the entire Cancer Killas Foundation Team.
"I've never been to New Orleans until this past weekend, and what an incredible way to experience my first visit. The community's presence was incredibly welcoming, and my team and I are already planning to return with even more entertainment experiences for the city and beyond," said Smith.
Despite the absence of Mayor LaToya Cantrell and City Councilman Eugene J. Green, who were invited but unable to attend, the event proceeded successfully, showcasing the resilience and spirit of the community.
A special thank you to former NFL player Oliver Celestin for coming out and supporting the cause, further emphasizing the event's mission of bringing people together for a greater purpose.
