The first Economist & Jurist Group Awards for Excellence in Legal

The deadline for submitting nominations will close on February 14 at 23.59h

Along with excellence comes recognition. This famous quote, attributed to the English novelist William Makepeace, will become a guiding principle on March 20. Economist & Jurist Group, supported by more than a hundred professionals from the legal sector, has announced that it will host a gala to honor legal operators and outstanding professionals in the legal field, acknowledging their achievements, contributions, and leadership.

The event will take place at the auditorium of Santander's corporate headquarters, located in the capital of Spain, at 11 Juan Ignacio Luca de Tena Street. It will gather dozens of renowned jurists advocating for better functioning of the Justice system. A list that already includes some notable names, such as Enrique Arnaldo, magistrate of the Constitutional Court; Salvador Gonzalez, president of the CGAE; and M Emilia Adan Garcia, dean of the National College of Registrars.

A total of 12 awards will be presented, divided into general, individual, and special categories. In the first block, awards will be given for the best legal advisory service, the best law firm, and the best boutique of the year. Additionally, awards will be granted for the best legal startup, the best project in innovation and digital transformation, and the best Pro Bono project.

In the second block, on an individual level, the best jurist of the year, the best young lawyer, and the Jose Juan Pinto Ruiz award, recognizing a lifetime devoted to Justice, will be presented.

Finally, in the special awards category, judicial independence will be recognized with a prize for a personality, institution, or project whose work has significantly contributed to strengthening judicial independence; the best deal of the year will also be awarded, along with a final award chosen by the readers of Economist & Jurist.

The deadline for submitting nominations opened on January 10 and will close at 23:59 on February 14, 2025. In this context, Pablo Capel, managing director of Economist & Jurist Group, stated that "being excellent is the guarantee that the rights of those seeking justice will be protected with the utmost rigor by each jurist. Excellence is not a trend, it is a way of being, and from E&J, we want to reward legal excellence."
