VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) chip, refers vertical cavity surface emitting laser chip, is a new type of semiconductor laser device. The product is a form of semiconductor laser. VCSEL chip is composed of multiple layers of semiconductor thin film, including semiconductor reflector, activation area, light gap and other structures, so that the laser can radiate vertically from the surface through a small hole. In the VCSEL chip, the excitation current is injected into the p-n junction between the multiple layers of bipolar materials. When electrons and holes recombine, they release energy, generate coherent light radiation, and finally form a laser beam in the VCSEL.
