Why This Event Matters
In 1920, over 920,000 Black farming families thrived in the U.S. Today, fewer than 36,000 remain, largely due to systemic challenges like land loss, racial discrimination, and barriers to funding. "This is not just about the past; it's about the future of farming, land ownership, and food justice in America." Dr. Gail P. Myers.
