On February 14, 2023, the White House revealed a new plan in which Tesla, the leading electric car manufacturer, announced that it would open select charging stations to all-electric vehicles (EVs) in the United States for the first time. By the end of 2024, Tesla aims to make at least 7,500 chargers from its Supercharger and Destination Charger networks available to non-Tesla EV owners. This initiative is designed to provide more charging options and enhance convenience for EV users nationwide.

The following day, on February 15, 2023, the Biden-Harris Administration introduced new measures to make EV charging more accessible and reliable across the U.S. As part of President Biden's ambitious climate action plan, these efforts aim to establish a network of domestically produced EV chargers, enabling electric road trips across the country.

In May 2023, the Canadian government announced over US$ 36 million in funding aimed at improving the country's EV charging infrastructure. This investment, unveiled during Canada's Economic Development Week, will support the installation of around 150 new fast chargers and over 3,500 On-Board Top-Down Pantograph chargers nationwide. The goal is to expand and enhance the availability of charging stations for EV owners across Canada.
