Elephant Parade Nijkerk 2025: Art, color, and conservation unite!
This unique event is a collaboration between Nijkerk Cultuur en Creatief, Elephant Parade International, artists Nicole des Bouvrie and Arne Hak, and the Municipality of Nijkerk. It aims to raise awareness and funds for the protection of endangered Asian elephants while celebrating creativity and cultural diversity.
A Grand Beginning: Royal Transport Unveiling
The festivities kicked-off on December 6, 2024, with the unveiling of the 'Royal Transport with the Elephant King' sculpture at the Nijkerk Town Hall. This majestic artwork, symbolizing connection and cultural richness, serves as the prelude to the main event and reflects Nijkerk's commitment to fostering inclusivity and sustainability.
The Elephant Parade Experience
Starting on February 14, 2025, visitors can enjoy:
● A Stunning Parade of Elephant Statues: Discover nearly 40 life-sized statues, each uniquely painted by artists, celebrities, and local talents, highlighting themes of conservation and culture.
● Creative Engagement with the Coloring Contest: Participants of all ages can download a digital coloring template and submit their designs by April 4, 2025. The winning design will be painted on a 20cm elephant statue, making local creativity part of this global movement.
● Live-paintings during the event
Join Us for the Opening Celebration
The grand opening on February 14, 2025, will feature music, speeches, and an exclusive first look at the full herd of hand-painted elephants. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the beauty of art and the meaningful cause of conservation.
