Phoenix Community and Local Businesses Rally: 72-Hour Donation Drive Launched for LA Wildfire Victims
The recent wildfires have caused unprecedented destruction:
* 20 lives lost
* Over 12,000 structures destroyed
* 180,000 people evacuated
"The impact on Sylmar and greater Los Angeles is staggering," said J. Daniel , founder of QFSLife's community Outreach Division. "We're amazed by how quickly our Phoenix community, especially local businesses and the jiu-jitsu community, have come together to support this critical effort."
The donation drive is collecting:
* Warm clothes
* Blankets
* Hygiene products
* Non-perishable food
* Baby supplies
* Pet food
Local businesses have stepped up to serve as drop-off locations:
* QFSLife HQ
* Optimyze (3 locations in Arcadia, North Phoenix, and Tempe)
* Barncat Jiu Jitsu
* Gracie Arizona
The jiu-jitsu community, including dozens of members from Barncat Jiu Jitsu and Gracie Arizona, has mobilized to assist with collection and sorting of donations.
"It's incredible to see our jiu-jitsu family come together for this cause," said Mia Tautimes, blue belt at Gracie Arizona Jiu Jitsu. "We're not just training partners; we're a community that supports each other and those in need."
Optimyze, a local business with multiple locations, has offered its 3 locations for donation drop-offs. "We're proud to be part of this initiative," says a member of their team. "Our team is committed to making it as easy as possible for people to donate." Both new and gently used items are welcome, but donors are reminded to ensure all items are clean and in good condition.
Those unable to donate items are encouraged to share information about the drive on social media to amplify its reach.
