Donate a cuddly friend: bringing comfort and support to kids with

Brno, CZ & Bedford, NH, Jan 8, 2025-It's the season to be warm and fuzzy, and we're sharing a heart-warming story about how cuddly companions are bringing comfort to kids with cancer. Kentico is proud to donate, and you can help too by contributing a cuddly friend to bring joy and comfort to a child in need.

About The Kids' Cancer Project: funding hope through research
The Kids' Cancer Project is a leading Australian charity dedicated to funding research into childhood cancer. For over 20 years, it has supported innovative scientific studies aimed at improving treatments and discovering cures.

The project began in the late 1980s when Col Reynolds, a coach driver, passed by the Children's Hospital in Camperdown, Sydney. Seeing two young cancer patients through the window deeply moved him. On impulse, Col parked his coach and stepped inside, witnessing firsthand the harsh reality faced by children battling cancer.

This profound experience ignited Col's mission to help, leading to the creation of The Kids' Cancer Project - a charity committed to funding life-saving research that improves survival rates and ensures childhood cancer survivors can lead healthy, happy lives.

Since its inception, TKCP has invested over 70 million AUD into more than 387 research projects across Australia. Through collaborations with scientists, clinical trials, and support programs, TKCP continues to drive innovation and improve outcomes for young cancer patients.

Their vision is clear: to see 100% of children, adolescents, and young adults survive cancer without lasting health complications from their treatment.

What has TKCP got to do with Kentico, you ask?

A shared mission: partnership in action
Early in 2024, the organization recognized that their website was not keeping up with its growing demands. The site lacked the flexibility needed to communicate their mission effectively and engage their audience. They wanted to redesign the website to better raise awareness, drive donations, and support their evolving needs.

To achieve this, they partnered with DDSN Interactive, a valued Kentico partner, and chose Kentico for its comprehensive, scalable solution that could meet their goals. The upgraded site significantly improved user engagement and made it easier for supporters to contribute, leading to a major new donation just one week after the site went live. Kentico was so impressed by the project that it awarded it the Site of the Month recognition in June 2024. However, Kentico was also deeply moved by The Kids' Cancer Project's mission. That's why we've taken part in the organization's "Donate a Cuddly Friend" campaign.

Donate a cuddly friend: a small gesture, a huge impact
As we can all imagine, hospital stays can be a terrifying experience for children. A soft toy can provide comfort, making them feel less alone and afraid during treatment. That's why The Kids' Cancer Project invites everyone to donate or purchase a cuddly companion for children in need, knowing the funds also contribute to vital cancer research.

Kentico has donated 10 teddies to this cause and wants to raise awareness about this incredible charity and the vital work it does.

If you can, please consider joining us in supporting this campaign. Together, we can help bring comfort to children undergoing cancer treatment while contributing to the science that one day may cure childhood cancer.
