Author Quits Day Job to Pursue Full-Time Writing Career

Four years ago author Jaimie Engle officially opened her doors to A Writer For Life, a full service editing, coaching, and marketing firm to assist authors with book publication. Her more than fifty clients include picture book authors, non-fiction writers, award-winning children’s book authors, and traditionally published fiction writers. The lucrative business has funded her own book projects and she has independently published two novels, a coloring book, a teacher’s guide, one novella, and a non-fiction book on writing. Only this October, Engle closed the doors to her firm to pursue a full-time career as a novelist.
“A Writer For Life was a wonderful experience and it opened many doors for teaching opportunities across the country, including courses at Eastern Florida State College, where I’ve been since 2014,” shares Engle. “It was bittersweet to say good-bye to a successful business, but in order to grow JME Books and my work as a professional author, I have to focus 100% of my efforts on writing and speaking.”
Engle signed with agent Saritza Hernandez of the Corvisiero Agency in August to represent her next novel EXPOSURE, a young adult paranormal that will make you question everything about the afterlife.
“I’m super-excited to finally be able to say that I rep the amazing Jaimie Engle,” shares Hernandez. “This partnership has been in the works for months as we’ve known each other through the Florida Writers Association conferences (and mini-conferences) over the years but never had an opportunity to work together until she queried me with a great contemporary horror young adult work that I just adore!”

Jaimie Engle pens cutting-edge storytelling with a touch of the supernatural. Her YA fantasy and sci-fi adventures have won several awards including CLIFTON CHASE AND THE ARROW OF LIGHT (BRAG Medallion, 2016 / Kid Lit Top Ten Pick, 2014), THE DREDGE (Writer’s of the Future Award, 2014), and DREADLANDS (Nebula, FL Sunshine State, and Tiptree Nominee, 2016).
