8 Year Old Jomo Jesus Thomas Suriel Wins Mom's Choice Award for the Emotions Volcano & the Angry Vacuum Books
The two child hero characters focus on helping kids manage emotional and mental health for young children and neuro divergent learners. Jomo Jesus has been writing professionally and published since he was four years old with his children's books Super Happy Kid Defeats the Angries, Super Happy Kid Escapes Angryland. He also donates his books for free to help and encourage emotional literacy as he wants to help more kids learn to manage emotions and harness the power of emotional intelligence. In addition to winning two Mom's Choice Awards, he has also won multiple Literary Titan Awards and Reader's Favorite Five Star Award as well as excellent reviews on GoodReads and NetGalley. He is up for nomination in the NAACP Image Awards for Children's Literature. His next upcoming book is The Critical Critters with Sid and Laura delving into positive psychology, positive self-talk, mindfulness, resiliency, self-regulation, empathy and zones of emotional behavior.
Jomo Jesus is homeschooled at the Clifton Academy by Sandra Clifton. He also takes college classes at Straighterline. He enjoys learning new languages such as Hebrew and Mandarin at Outschool. He is fluent in Spanish and English. Jomo Jesus envisions developing the animated series of Sid the Super Happy Kid and Laura the Emotions Explorer and also a feature film based on the sibling heroines helping children solve mental health challenges.
