Webinar Examines Service Management Challenges in a Virtualized Environment

Press release from: Tideway Systems

NEW YORK and LONDON: February 14, 2008 -- Tideway Systems, one of the fastest growing providers of IT automation software, will be hosting a webinar exploring the challenges of service management in a virtualized environment in collaboration with Forrester Research, an independent technology and market research company that provides pragmatic and forward-thinking advice to global leaders in business and technology.
While virtualization can improve data center efficiency, the proliferation of virtual machines can often grow out of control and lead to “virtual sprawl.” The dependencies between business applications, virtual machines and the supporting infrastructure can become too complex to manage efficiently. As a result, administration costs rise, SLAs are jeopardized and some of the problems virtualization was intended to solve are exacerbated.
Forrester Principal Analyst Peter O’Neill and Tideway Vice President of Product Marketing Kosten Metreweli will focus on the added complexity of virtual machine (VM) management in a one-hour webinar that will explore how enterprises can:

- Implement continuous controls to manage VM sprawl
- Understand and manage virtualization impact on software licensing
- Reduce the risk of outages caused by changes to VMs
- Analyze the business impact of changes in multi-tiered applications
The webinar will take place on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 11:00 am EST, 4:00 pm GMT.

Registration for the event is free and can be completed at
