The global airplane and other powered aircraft trade amounted to 11,3089 million USD in 2015. The value of trade remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period, rising with a CAGR of +1.9% from 2007 to 2015.

France dominates in global supplies of airplanes and other powered aircraft. In 2015, France’s airplane and other powered aircraft exports totaled 53,676 million USD, which accounted for a 47% share in terms of global exports. Germany, Canada, Ireland, and Brazil were the other key global suppliers of airplanes and other powered aircraft in 2015, with a combined share of 40%.

Ireland (+66.5% per year) and France (+12.6%% per year) were the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2015. France significantly strengthened its position in the global exports structure, growing its share from 21% in 2007 to 47% in 2015.

On the other hand, China (16%, based on value terms), France (15%), Germany (10%), the USA (8%), and the UAE (8%) were the leading destinations of airplane and other powered aircraft imports in 2015. Imports to the UAE grew at a rapid pace of +47% per year from 2007 to 2015. By contrast, Germany’s imports of airplanes and other powered aircraft grew at a slower +6.6% annual rate over the same period. France’s share in terms of global imports increased significantly (+11 percentage points), while the share of Germany illustrated negative dynamics (-4 percentage points).
