18 months Chem2Market - a short review
started as a marketplace for surplus raw materials, Chem2Market is developing into an international trade platform for raw materials and ingredients from the cosmetics, chemical, food and pharma industry.
“We had more and more inquiries from customers that wanted to purchase their regular ingredients as well from us” so Dr. Christiane Strasse, founder and CEO.
18 months the marketplace Chem2Market is online now, since 9 months open for regular products. This led to exponential growth - time for a review:
The marketplace started with 800 raw materials in march 2015, by now ca.15.000 are listed. Approximately 600 new Ingredients are listed every month, with an accelerating trend.
Ca. 35.000 more ingredients are waiting for quality assurance - suppliers and products are examined before the listing in the marketplace is published.
“The quality assurance is one of our top priorities, because we want to assure highest possible security and transparency for customer and producer” states Dirk Brauns, founder and CEO.
Co-operations with producers from Europe, North- and South America and the far East are continuously developed and improved. New co-operations are established weekly.
Especially medium sized companies from cosmetics, pharma, chemistry and food use the marketplace as an additional sales channel.
The combination of residues and “fresh” raw materials is unique. “we are concentrating on the material itself. If it is a leftover or a fresh batch has to be described transparently, and then the purchase department can decide”, says Dr. Christiane Strasse.
Strategic goal is to make the purchaser completely happy. They can list the leftovers that are not needed in production any longer and with the next click they can buy an ingredient they currently need.
Chem2Market is the innovative marketplace for the trading of raw materials, blends and residue raw materials in chemistry, cosmetics, food and pharma. Goal is the direct contact between raw material producers and their customers in processing industries - prices can be lowered significantly.
Chem2Market was founded 2012 in Hamburg, Germany. So far more than 50.000 raw materials and blends are available, with a strong upward trend.
