As a result, the billing efficiency rose to 85%, with double the revenue. In addition, ATC losses notably fell from 38.5% to 9.6%.

The Government's initiatives to promote smart meters

The UK government placed smart meters across the nation, with over 32.4 million smart and modern meters installed as of March 2023. The project focused on improving energy efficiency and aiding the transition to renewable energy. As a result, homes with smart meters reported an average reduction of 3.4% in electricity consumption and 3.0% for gas.
