Grand Opening of The Playroom East Cobb in Marietta, GA: Sensory-Friendly Play for Children of All Abilities

Marietta, GA - Oct 22, 2024 - The Playroom East Cobb opens its doors to the community on Wednesday, October 23 with Grand Opening activities Saturday, October 26. The space focuses on support of children with developmental differences such as autism, sensory challenges and ADHD, which a new report from the CDC reports affects "at least 1 in 9 children"1 Designed to be a community hub, the climate-controlled space includes play structures, activities, toys and therapy facilities where children can play and learn together.

Owner and Founder, Stephanie Fisher was inspired to create the space in response to the challenges she faced in finding safe places to play that weren't overstimulating for her and her children. "We designed The Playroom for kids, but as a mom, parents were always on the top of my mind. So, we made it easy to watch your kids. We wanted a place where parents could play with their kids, but also be able to drop them off when they needed a break. And it needed to be affordable enough that they could bring their children regularly. We knew that having the therapists on site will be incredibly valuable for the families that need them."

In addition to play structures, The Playroom features a therapy suite and gym designed for professionals such as speech therapists, counselors, and occupational therapists, who will provide care and classes for children and parents.

Best suited for infants through elementary school, The Playroom offers open play, private birthday parties, a calendar of special classes, programs, and classes designed to meet the needs of the community. By the end of the year, The Playroom will offer drop off services including camps, mornings out, classes, and more.

● Design a Haunted House - build with LEGOs
● Wee Readers - early literacy class for child and grown up
