Founded in 2012, the Thomas J. Blocker Society consists of distinguished alumni from Morehouse College dedicated to empowering the next generation of African Americans and Morehouse men pursuing healthcare and biomedical sciences careers. This year's gala underscored the society's mission and celebrated the enduring influence of its alumni, whose groundbreaking efforts have paved the way for future healthcare leaders. The event honored two exemplary servant leaders: Dr. Harold Jordan, the first Black resident physician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and former Chair of Psychiatry at Meharry Medical College, and Dr. Willie Underwood III, a well-respected urologist, researcher, and medical innovator, who is the immediate past chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association. Both honorees have diversified and transformed medicine in mental and prostate health, health policy, and health delivery systems throughout their distinguished careers.

Adding to the evening's allure, the legendary Jasmine Guy, known for her iconic portrayal of Whitley Gilbert-Wayne on the beloved series "A Different World," served as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Her Emmy Award-winning charisma and star power illuminated the night, leaving an indelible mark on all who attended.
