Attorney Colleen Kerins Appointed General Counsel of Public Insurance Adjusting Association

Heartland Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (HAPIA) is pleased to announce that Colleen A. Kerins, of Kerins Law LLC, has been appointed as General Counsel for the organization. With Ms. Kerins' expertise and leadership, HAPA is positioned to continue making significant strides in transforming the insurance landscape. Her efforts will be focused on advocating for critical legal and regulatory reforms that will benefit both public adjusters and policyholders, ensuring a more transparent and equitable system for claims handling.

Ms. Kerins received her undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and obtained her law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in multiple jurisdictions, including Ohio, Florida, and various federal courts: the Northern District of Ohio, the Middle District of Florida, and the Southern District of Florida.

In 2024, Ms. Kerins founded Kerins Law LLC after relocating from Florida, where she had spent 13 years working on behalf of insurance companies. Now, as a strong advocate for policyholders in Ohio, she brings a unique perspective to her role with HAPIA, blending her deep understanding of insurance company operations with her passion for ensuring fair treatment for policyholders. HAPIA is confident that Ms. Kerins' experience and commitment will help drive meaningful change in the industry.
