SBI Foundation launches Asha Scholarship to support 10,000 of India's brightest young minds

Mumbai, September , 2024 - SBI Foundation, the CSR arm of the State Bank of India, has announced the 3rd edition of its flagship Asha Scholarship Program. This year, the program guarantees support to 10,000 meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds nationwide.
Introduced in 2022 under SBI Foundation's Education vertical - Integrated Learning Mission (ILM), this Scholarship is dedicated to identifying and supporting meritorious students from the most underserved backgrounds, with a mission to make quality higher education accessible for young Indians. Coinciding with Independent India's 77 years of continued progress, the Program aims to nurture and mentor young Indians as leaders and changemakers for the future.
This year, students from Class 6th onwards up to those pursuing Postgraduate programs can avail benefits from INR 15,000 to INR 20,00,000 in a year. Specialised categories are available for in-school students, students pursuing undergraduate courses, postgraduate courses, as well as for students currently enrolled in IITs and IIMs in India. A 'Study Abroad' category for SC and ST students will also support those pursuing Masters and above from eminent institutions worldwide.
Speaking about the initiative, Shri. Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman, State Bank Group highlighted its vision, "Asha Scholarship embodies SBI's core value of service beyond banking, and being an active contributor to our nation's steady march towards progress and prosperity for all. We are proud to be expanding this transformative initiative to 10,000 students this year. Asha Scholars will play an important role in achieving our Nation's vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047."
The application window for the scholarship, which opened on 16th August 2024, will remain open till 1st October 2024 on https://www.sbifashascholarship.org/. Details on eligibility and timelines of the scholarship are available on the website, and students can also inquire on the helpline.
