About the Author:
Dexter Kennedy [https://www.dextervkennedy.com/] is the passionate visionary behind the National Martial Arts League and the Help Stand-Up Against Violence Everyone (S.A.V.E.) America initiative. A retired US Army Warrant Officer, Kennedy has dedicated his life to martial arts since he began his study in 1976. As a teenager in Columbia, SC, he started teaching martial arts through a local continuing education program, igniting a lifelong commitment to the sport.
Kennedy's martial arts journey is nothing short of inspiring. He won the V Corps Flyweight boxing title in 1980, earned his black belt, and opened his first karate school in Harlingen, TX, in 1986. Trained by Martial Arts National Champion Mike Genova and Blackbelt Hall of Fame Member Keith Vitali, Kennedy continued his martial arts career after his military service. He became nationally rated for seven years and earned recognition as a Desert Storm veteran in 1990.
Most recently, Kennedy achieved his 5th Degree Black Belt in May 2022 and was inducted into the National Martial Arts Hall of Fame in July 2022. As the author of four books, he lays the groundwork for his concept of a professional martial arts sport team league, offering a unique opportunity for martial artists, promoters, school owners, and investors.
