Julianne Eggold, Writer and Director of The Finding Papa Movie, Wins Award in IndieFEST Film Awards
August 28, 2024. San Diego, CA - Julianne Eggold, writer and director of The Finding Papa Movie, has won a prestigious Award of Recognition for Women Filmmaker from the IndieFEST Film Awards. The award was given for Julianne Eggold's heartfelt feature documentary film The Finding Papa Movie which shows the true journey of sisters Julianne and Joelle as they set out to discover what happened to their father after his chaotic death 20 years earlier. The Finding Papa Movie features exceptional scenery driving through California while gathering clues from investigators, professors, psychics, and spiritual leaders. And by a twist of fate, the sisters get answers in a very unique Hollywood ending."I am very honored to be given this award as a woman filmmaker and as a student, having just received my master's degree in social work from San Diego State University," Julianne explained. "At heart, my sister and I are helpers, hoping that others might find solace in this film and derive peace from their own experiences with grief. Whether it's losing a job, a home, a relationship, or a loved one, we all grapple with loss. We wanted to tell our story to relate to this human experience while honoring our dad's memory."
