ASSOCHAM Excellence Award for Smile Foundation in Health &

New Delhi, July 30, 2024: Smile Foundation has been honored with the prestigious ASSOCHAM Odisha CSR and Sustainability Excellence Award 2024, emerging as the sole recipient in the Health and Wellness category.

The award ceremony, which included a summit, was attended by distinguished guests, including Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education, Government of Odisha; Shri A. T. Mishra, IFS, Deputy Director General of Forests (Central), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India; Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, Chairman of the Odisha State Development Council, ASSOCHAM, along with other eminent dignitaries and industry leaders.

"This recognition in the Health and Wellness category at the Odisha CSR and Sustainability Excellence Awards 2024 by ASSOCHAM is a testament to the relentless dedication of our healthcare team working on the ground," expressed Mr. Santanu Mishra, Co-founder and Executive Trustee of Smile Foundation.

Smile Foundation's healthcare initiatives include mobile medical units, telemedicine centers, static clinics, and multi-specialty health camps. Currently, the organization operates 91 mobile medical units, 10 mobile telemedicine units, four mobile dental units, and three static clinics across 73 districts, including 27 aspirational districts in 16 states across India.

In the past year, Smile Foundation's healthcare services have reached 1.06 million individuals, 75% of whom are women and children. These services, provided at no cost, include consultations with qualified doctors, pathology services, medicines, referrals, and more.

This award acknowledges Smile Foundation's efforts in bringing essential healthcare to some of India's most remote and underserved communities, including those in aspirational districts and tribal regions. The organization has not only provided vital healthcare services but has also launched comprehensive awareness programs on child health, maternal and elderly care, communicable diseases, and crucial lifestyle changes, effectively supporting government health initiatives.
