UK universities go further in World University Ranking - RUR

RUR Rankings Agency: 18 UK universities are in the TOP-100 in the world in RUR Research Performance World University Rankings.

Overall 692 of higher education institutions from 80 countries are included in the ranking which evaluates the level of research activities in leading world universities. The ranking is primarily addressed to incoming graduate students through all over the world as well as to the academic community.

UK demonstrates strong performance in this ranking. Overall, 18 UK higher education institutions are included in the world’s TOP-100 headed by Imperial College London which is also the world leader in terms of research performance. The TOP-10 colleges in UK are represented below (world rank is written in brackets).

Rankings Methodology
RUR Research Performance Rankings assess higher education institutions performance by five different indicators:
1. Normalized citation – this indicator evaluates citations of research publications of all authors compared with world averages.
2. Ratio between academic and research staff and the number of research publications.
3. Ratio between the number of research publications and the number of academic and research staff.
4. International research reputation.
5. Share of research publications written in international co-authorship.
