Senior Editor Matt Vidler is very proud of the fact that, to date, he has not rejected one single manuscript to land on his desk, and most of those that Editorial Services have worked on are now published; he feels there is nobody the service cannot help to gain publication. As he puts it, with an inspiring degree of confidence: “There must be a million unpublished manuscripts in this city alone, and I’d love to publish them all!” While the idea may seem a beautifully optimistic one, in 2014 Digital Book World and Writer’s Digest published a survey of 9000 self-proclaimed authors, finding that only 34% of manuscripts ended up published, and 60% of those by the authors themselves.
