HGF Family Day to Empower Families with Children with Growth Disorders

08-24-2016 09:24 AM CET | Associations & Organizations

Press release from: Human Growth Foundation

Human Growth Foundation will host “HGF Family Day” on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Fort Worth Zoo, from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm. The nonprofit event is in celebration of National Growth Awareness Week and will engage, educate and empower local families whose children have growth disorders.
HGF Family Day will include workshops to learn about the latest developments in growth disorders, combating bullying, and obtaining medical insurance reimbursement. Families will have a chance to meet with healthcare providers, obtain resources on growth disorders, followed by zoo adventure.
Human Growth Foundation established HGF Family Day following the U.S Senates groundbreaking Growth Awareness Resolution, S. Res. 489, in 2014, acknowledging children's Growth Awareness Week, thus acknowledging the importance of what a child's growth pattern can say about their overall health.
“If a child is not growing at the normal rate, that can be a clear indication of something wrong with the child’s overall health,” says Dr. Pisit (“Duke”) Pitchukewannont, president of Human Growth Foundation. “The first step to helping the child is awareness, early diagnosis, and then treatment. That is why the HGF Family Day is so important for families.”
HGF Family Day attendees must register online at www.HGFFamilyDay.net.
