The event will honor ten individuals who have demonstrated resilience and determination in overcoming their diagnoses to live their lives to the fullest. Founded by Sarah Mae in 2020, after her 16-year battle with epilepsy, the organization aims to empower individuals to prioritize their destiny over their medical conditions.
St. Louis, MO - July 2, 2024 - Destiny Over Diagnosis will host its Third Annual Awards Gala on August 3, 2024, at the Exodus Art Gallery in St. Louis, Missouri. This event will honor individuals who have placed their destiny above their diagnosis, showcasing their efforts to overcome various health challenges and live their lives to the fullest.

Founded in 2020 by Sarah Mae Brown, Destiny Over Diagnosis emerged from her personal battle with epilepsy, which spanned over 16 years. Sarah Mae chose to focus on what she could do, rather than the limitations imposed by her diagnosis. "I understand how intimidating it feels to be given a diagnosis that seems to cap your life, but I want to reach those who see that ceiling as glass and decide to break through it," says Sarah Mae. "Our mission is to shatter the stigma associated with diagnoses and demonstrate that there is life beyond the diagnosis - that there is destiny over your diagnosis. Here I am, leading by example."

The gala will spotlight ten extraordinary individuals, each with a unique diagnosis, who have demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination. These honorees have chosen to focus on their God-given destiny, rather than allowing their medical conditions to define them. Through their stories, we aim to inspire others facing similar struggles to embrace their potential and pursue their dreams.

Attendees will enjoy an evening of great music, dinner, and the opportunity to engage with vendors offering valuable resources and insights. These vendors will serve as a support network, providing information and encouragement to those navigating similar health journeys.

Adding to the evening's ambiance, a live band will perform, setting the perfect backdrop for a red carpet experience from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The event will culminate in a celebratory dance, designed to uplift and energize all attendees. This vibrant conclusion will ensure that the evening ends on a high note, with everyone coming together to celebrate life and destiny.
