Charity Fashion Ball For Gender Based Violence
Gender Based Violence does not only violate human rights but also destroys the bedrock of every nation. Okwuí Mask Scheme is working with survivors of Gender Based Violence and governments across the globe to find an end to this violent crime.
Okwuí Mask Scheme, a non-profit organization has collaborated with Top African UK designers to bring an extraordinary charity fashion ball in the heart of Mayfair in London. Amour Méritée (Love Deserved) would be held on Saturday, 10th of September at the Lansdowne Private Members Club in London. It kicks off at 6.30pm.
With over 150 expected attendees, the goal is to educate, entertain and raise money to support projects we do in Africa where there are no laws protecting citizens and our UK projects with women refuges in London. It will be a forum to celebrate and recognize the critical relationships required to achieve the elimination of all forms of Gender Based Violence.
This engaging and interactive evening would showcase fashion with Afrocentric cultures, provide a luxurious fundraising evening while providing an effective networking environment.
The charity ball will feature a variety of fun events including live music and performances, drinks reception, three course meal with wine, fashion shows by Top UK based African designers, live auctions, dance floor and networking. The standard cost of evening will be £75.00 admission. 70% of the proceeds will benefit Okwuí Mask Scheme initiative to construct a “Safe Haven” for individuals fleeing from all forms of Gender Based Violence in Nigeria, West Africa. 30% will be used to support our “Kick Start by Okwuí”; motivational packs for women displaced from their homes by this violent crime seeking succor in a refuge in London.
