On the morning of June 19, the 20th ASEAN Chinese Chamber of Commerce opened in Kunming, co-sponsored by the Chinese Federation of Overseas Chinese and the People's Government of Yunnan Province, and sponsored by the Yunnan Federation of Overseas Chinese, the Yunnan Overseas Chinese Office, the Yunnan Commerce Department and the Yunnan Investment Promotion Bureau. Wan Lijun said that in 2019, the Chinese Federation of Overseas Chinese and the People's Government of Yunnan Province jointly organized the "ASEAN Chinese Chamber of Commerce" event for the first time. Over the years, more than 9000 people from more than 90 countries and regions, mainly ASEAN countries and Hong Kong and Macao, have participated in the conference, and a number of top 500 Chinese enterprises in the world have settled in Yunnan. "ASEAN Chinese Chamber of Commerce" has become an important platform for the co-construction of "The Belt and Road Initiative" and a bridge for the interconnection, communication and sharing between China and the co-construction countries.

Wan Lijun said that with the increasingly close economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN, the activities will play a greater and unique role in promoting economic cooperation between China and Southeast Asia, South Asia and even the Indian Ocean Rim region. As a bridge and link between overseas Chinese and their relatives, the Chinese Federation of Overseas Chinese will adhere to the central task, serve the overall situation and serve overseas Chinese, give full play to its unique advantages, and help Yunnan expand its opening to the outside world and develop its economy and society by leaps and bounds.

Wan Lijun raised three hopes for overseas Chinese: First, seize the opportunity to contribute to the strength of overseas Chinese in the realization of Chinese-style modernization. The second is to give full play to its advantages and show the elegance of overseas Chinese in the co-construction of "The Belt and Road Initiative". Third, be a good envoy to highlight the role of overseas Chinese in promoting friendship between Chinese and foreign people.

On behalf of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and the provincial government, the Wang Yubo extended his sincere welcome to all the distinguished guests, and recommended "Beautiful Yunnan, Endeavor Yunnan, Open Yunnan". He hoped that overseas Chinese leaders and businessmen would deepen economic and trade cooperation, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in trade, investment, technology and other fields, and achieve the goal of mutual benefit, win-win and common development. We hope to jointly promote cultural exchanges between China and ASEAN countries, including cooperation and exchanges in the fields of culture, education and tourism, so as to enhance mutual understanding and friendship. It is hoped that the ASEAN Chinese Chamber of Commerce will become an important bridge connecting China and ASEAN countries and cooperate to promote the construction of a new pattern of closer regional cooperation.
