In this book, Dr. Kumara Sidhartha shares the expertise that he has gained from his nearly 30 years of medical practice with a focus on nutrition. In the preface, it states that: "The truth is that the human body's default position is to heal and thrive well. To this end, it keeps sending signals to inform its likes and dislikes, hoping that we will pay attention and course-correct our behavior to maintain health and wellness." In the chapters that follow, Dr. Kumara Sidhartha describes how to treat the human body with problems such as excess weight, cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune diseases. He provides suggestions on how to keep the brain, heart, gut, joints, bones, and muscles healthy and also discusses aging and pregnancy. There are also many nutritious recipes in the book.
