Project Skills Solutions saves local company a large sum of money with air conditioning repair and overhaul solution

After being contacted by a local company to look into a faulty over-door heating system, initial checks by the team found the unit to be in poor condition, approximately 10 to 12 years old, and beyond economic repair. Engineers decided it would therefore need replacing.

As a replacement system came with a hefty £4000 price tag, Project Skills Solutions engineers removed the unit and inspected it further. Once back at the workshop it was evaluated that the unit was in need of a major overhaul, costing in the region of 25% of the cost quoted for the replacement.

Tasked with the overhaul, Project Skills Solutions’ engineers set to work to thoroughly clean the dirt and grime from all of the internal heating elements and moving fan parts. These elements required thorough air blasting and abrasive cleaning to ensure they were in satisfactory condition, allowing the team to electrically test the wiring and temperature control components. Replacement cabling was required and re-termination into the various circuit control boards.

After static bench tests had been completed, a range of temperature measurements were carried out to make sure the unit was performing correctly. The unit was then fully reassembled and given a final clean.

The fully functioning unit was then returned to site and reinstalled.
