The approval was based on clinical trials for the Tafinlar-Mekinist combination therapy that led to tumor shrinkage benefits for both adult and pediatric glioma patients, with a 33% response rate observed in high-grade glioma patients, a 50% response rate in low-grade glioma patients and a 25% response rate in pediatric glioma patients.
