A 20-Year Love Affair with Dubai: What Led Tauseef Asri to Luxury Property

Tauseef Asri first came to Dubai in 2002 and since then, he has been a regular visitor to the city. When he got married in 2017, he went to Dubai for his honeymoon and he knew that one day, it wouldn't just be a place to visit on holiday. He was committed to living and working there. In 2024, he found his opportunity and seized it, joining award-winning brokerage Luxury Property as a Private Client Advisor.

Working in luxury real estate was a straightforward transition for Tauseef as his previous role gave him many transferable skills. He has a background in recruitment, specifically in the field of executive search in the finance sector where he has worked primarily with investment bankers, senior partners at law firms, hedge fund managing directors, and banking directors. He gained valuable sales and operations experience, managing relationships and the admin involved in working with different industries. Over a span of 4 years, Tauseef was instrumental in growing the company's revenue from 300,000 pounds to 1.9 million pounds - a roughly 633% increase. Deciding to branch out and seek a new challenge, he turned his eye toward selling and renting high-end homes.

Given the tremendous success of the Dubai real estate market over the past several years, it only made sense for Tauseef to try his luck there. It was the perfect way to blend his love of the city with his professional experience. He diligently researched every aspect of the market so that he would enter the city armed with knowledge. Immediately, he set about interviewing with some of the top names in the business to find the right choice for him. Luxury Property caught his attention because of the presence of the brand in the city, and it didn't take long for him to narrow down his search.

"What really drew me to the company is the management," says Tauseef. "When I met with (CEO) Mark Castley and (Managing Director) Mark Richards, I had a great appreciation for the culture they have fostered and the philosophy they have."

Though still fairly new to the industry, he already has a few deals under his belt, which just cements his decision in his mind. "It was always the plan to come to Dubai," says Tauseef. "I've been in love with this city for a long time and I fully intend to build a future here."

Working with different nationalities and meeting people from different walks of life are among the aspects of the job he enjoys, and it is Tauseef's goal to become the most recognized name in the residential community of Jumeirah Islands. One of his biggest challenges in meeting that goal is an emotional one, as his family is still back in the UK. However, he aims to bring them to Dubai soon enough, and that is his primary motivation for pushing himself to excel in his new career.
