Metis Partners offers rare chance to acquire premium domain names, including Geeks.co.uk

Metis Partners, an award winning commercial intellectual property consultancy, is unveiling a rare opportunity to acquire some of the most attractive domain names to come on to the market in recent times.

Metis Partners is conducting a global sale and marketing exercise for Geeks.co.uk, Discs.co.uk and FocusMove.com, all of which have potential for brand extension, generating massive web traffic, and are dynamic web redirection tools. Potential buyers will be able to exploit the associated marketing benefits applicable to an extensive range of industries and sectors.

It is unusual for category-defining domain names with such immediate brand recognition to be put up for sale. Since international business has migrated to a digital environment, premium names have the same cachet as premium real estate - and attract similar prices.

They are now seen as valuable commodities, and instantly recognisable domains have sold for millions of dollars in recent years. For example, Fb.com sold for $8.5 million in 2010 and 360.com sold for $17 million in 2015.

Geeks.co.uk hosted the Geeks platform which provided technology news and reviews on electronic products including gadgets, phones, MP3 players, computers and game consoles. It is currently dormant.

The name is easily adaptable for a broad array of industries including software development, computer hardware and networking infrastructure manufacturing, IT and related services, video game development, consumer electronics, retail, fashion and entertainment.

Discs.co.uk hosted an online marketplace for the buying and selling of discounted and used electronic products including game consoles, mobile phones, video games, CDs and DVDs. It will be of interest in industries such as IT, music and film production, sound engineering, entertainment, retail and consumer electronics.

FocusMove.com and FocusMove.co.uk could be used to brand a range of products and services including gym and fitness centre memberships, removals, photography, and property rental.
