Seaside Art Gallery presents a family-fun day of art and intrigue at the 4th Annual Roll & Stroll on Thursday, July 14th, 2016, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Each year, the Roll & Stroll creates a fun-filled evening of artist demonstrations, art shows, live music, family and fine dining in the Gallery Row Arts District.

You can explore the visual arts with fine artist Suzanne Morris… watch her transform the ordinary into an extraordinary scene with the use of vivid, descriptive color, and bold expressive brushwork. You’ll see Suzanne demonstrate how she creates her award-winning ‘Plein Air’ paintings… French for ‘open air’… or the practice of painting on site instead of in a studio. Suzanne will paint and discuss her techniques. You’re encouraged to ask questions and learn the secrets of creating a high-quality painting.

“Mother nature creates color harmonies that would be impossible to make up in the studio,” Suzanne says. “A Plein Air painting is truly a painter’s impression of the subject.”

Her award-winning art is in galleries throughout the United States, including Virginia, North Carolina and Florida.

Suzanne belongs to and exhibits with prestigious painting organizations including The American Society of Marine Artists (signature member), Oil Painters of America, The American Impressionist Society, Women Artists of the West, Women Painters of the Southeast, The California Art Club, and the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association.

Meet Children’s Author Kay Kerr at Her Book Signing:

You’ll also meet artist-author Kay Kerr…she’ll be signing Croatoan’s Memoirs at the gallery. It’s her award-winning children’s book about the Corolla wild horses.

Kay’s book tells the authentic story of the Banker Colonial Spanish Mustangs through the eyes of Croatoan… a famous stallion that was “King” of a herd of horses that roam the beaches of the Outer Banks.

“I’m passionate about these beautiful animals and telling their story for future generations,” says Kay.

Each page of this beautiful book is colorfully illustrated with Kay’s acrylic paintings. Kay is an artist and equestrienne. She studied under the famous artist Barclay Sheaks.
