It is often said that victims of verbal and physical assaults are the silent minority in the UK. With bullying affecting 1 in 5 school children, workplace bullying costing the UK economy a staggering £18 billion a year, 1 in 4 women suffering domestic violence, assaults on public service personnel and lone workers going up by an average of 22% in 2015 it seems the minority is fast moving towards the majority.

Gary Payne from Milton Keynes has dedicated his career to working with victims of violent crime and bullying and has just launched a NEW FREE app to tackle bullying and some proven training solutions that benefit every member of the community albeit they are at home, at work or on holiday.

“We purchase car and house insurance in order to protect ourselves and yet provide no cover for our own personal safety. Instead millions of people simply go through life assuming nothing will ever happen to them and when it does their confidence and personality is dismantled piece by piece leaving a trail of devastation” said Gary.

The NEW STAY SAFE BULLY APP enables young people, their parents and teachers to communicate instantly about incidents that are concerning them. They receive free tips and advice on how to assess and avoid situations and they have access to a number of video tutorials that parents and teachers can use to educate their kids with.

Young people and their parents create evidence of the incidents via the app and can use this for a positive resolution within the school.

The school version of the app is multi-lingual and can be used to support teaching staff by giving them access to some effective and proven tips via a number of train the trainer videos.

The content of the app was successfully delivered to over 13,000 young people through the charity “Young People are our Future”

At the launch event of the app in MK, Gary said “I have worked with hundreds of families devastated by bullying and the sad truth is that many of the victims never fully recover from their ordeal. The solution is EDUCATION and I don’t mean telling people to STOP it and be NICE, I mean educate everyone in the core life skills to assess, avoid and tell”.

Gary has also launched a campaign to fund the app development of other proven training solutions he has developed over the last 20 years.

Stay Safe Women will provide valuable tips, advice and video tutorials to women with a specific focus on supporting women who have experienced domestic violence.

Stay Safe Work & Holiday will support public service staff and lone workers.

“If we are going to tackle this huge issue in communities everywhere, we need to wake up and acknowledge that skipping through life hoping that you will not become a victim to one or more of these preventable crimes is NOT the solution, nor is hoping that the Police and justice system is going to be your knight in shining armor. Educating people in some practical and effective life skills to give them a chance is the solution and these apps will enable people everywhere to have the ability to STAY SAFE, happy and confident”.

Gary is calling out to individuals / companies within the UK to explore the benefits of getting involved and becoming a part of a community education programme that will change people’s lives.
