Sichuan Airlines Resumes Chengdu-Auckland Service After Approximately 4 Years
Auckland, New Zealand - April 17, 2024 - Sichuan Airlines Flight 3U3811 successfully landed at Auckland Airport at 4:09 PM local time, marking the official resumption of direct flights between Chengdu and Auckland by Sichuan Airlines after approximately four years. This event underscores Sichuan Airlines' commitment to reconnecting China's heartland with New Zealand and establishing a crucial air bridge between the two regions. The Chengdu-Auckland route expansion further solidifies Sichuan Airlines' presence in Oceania, following successful operations in Melbourne and Sydney.
The inaugural flight to Auckland boasted an impressive seat occupancy rate exceeding 80%. Mr. Li, a passenger on the flight, expressed satisfaction with the convenience offered by the direct connection, citing a significant reduction in travel hassles.
Since its launch on June 13, 2017, the Chengdu-Auckland direct route by Sichuan Airlines has facilitated travel for over 160,000 passengers between China and New Zealand. Renowned for its genuine hospitality, characterized by the essence of "Chinese Elements and Sichuan Flavor," Sichuan Airlines' service has garnered widespread acclaim among passengers and played a pivotal role in fostering bilateral exchanges across various sectors between the two nations.
Presently, Sichuan Airlines operates more than 20 overseas offices worldwide. In the summer season of 2024, the airline plans to operate 35 international and regional routes, serving 31 destinations including Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Singapore, Rome, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Sydney, Melbourne, and Cairo. With its route network spanning across Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, and Africa, Sichuan Airlines remains committed to facilitating seamless connectivity and enhancing global travel experiences for passengers.
