A customer centric anti-counterfeit solution with high security features is needed to protect consumers against counterfeiting tra

EGIDE announces its participation at the 2nd International Vandagraf Brand Protection Conference 2016 that brings together brand protection and anti-counterfeiting experts and industry practitioners together to discuss and share new technologies and insights into brand protection solutions. Following the inaugural event held in 2014, this year’s conference will explore the threats and opportunities arising from the fast emerging areas being the Internet of Things (IOT), Near Field Communications and Mobile - Smartphone technologies.

Millions of dollars have been invested to fight against counterfeiting. As the proliferation of counterfeits continues, the dire need for sophisticated and effective protection against business risks and harms towards brand reliability and trust between businesses and consumers is becoming more urgent. Some key challenges requiring top decision makers to overcome include evaluating and developing appropriate approach to strategically tackle risks that injure businesses. This includes consideration of health risks to unsuspecting consumers who use or ingest fake goods that harm health or even endanger lives.

It is imperative to provide consumers with accurate and prompt information, as well as sound knowledge and the necessary tools to make informed purchase decisions. For this reason, EGIDE advocates the concept of a customer centric solution that allows businesses to connect with consumers, to educate, engage and equip them with accessible and easy to use tool to authenticate purchases and report fakes. This integrated approach, which also combines distinct customer features, can be made possible through the use of a mobile phone coupled with high security features.
