Once and for real - film premiere at the Grenzland-Filmtage Selb
An amusing, yet profound film about falling in love with Tillmann Eckardt and Manuel Leuchte (© Holger Borggrefe)
This cheerful study of relationships and how they shape us will be premiered at the Grenzland-Filmtage Selb in April 2024 (on April 5 at 8 pm and April 6 at 5.30 pm). Playfully interlaced levels show the momentous, small inadequacies in interpersonal relationships that run as a common thread through the life of the main character Anton (Tillmann Eckhardt).
His friend Moritz (Manuel Leuchtenberg) committed suicide at the age of 19 and at his grave Anton vows to fall in love once at least for real. From then on, "Bambi", as Moritz is called, supports him - as a ghost- in his search for the right person to fall in love with. He drives him on, torments him and slowly his story unfolds.
The actors impress with precise character studies, oscillating between comedy and tragedy, all wrapped up in rather ordinary, everyday scenes - until "Bambi" makes a fateful decision...
Negotiations and submissions for further screenings and festival participations are of course already underway. These include such promising contacts as the Brittany International Film Festival/Festival International du Film de Bretagne, where Borggrefe's last film (TWO IS A MAGIC NUMBER) won the prize for Best European Screenplay in 2021, and the Festival of Cinema NYC, where the aforementioned last film was awarded the prize for Best Feature Narrative in 2021.
At the Grenzland Filmtage Selb, in addition to juried prizes, there is also an audience award. Tickets are only available at the box office half an hour before the start of the screening (and only in cash). More at grenzlandfilmtage-selb.de.

We give actors, singers, dancers and film actors, as well as set designers, lighting designers, authors and dramaturges the opportunity to continue working in their profession even during a phase of non-regular employment, thus developing artistically and staying in the game. With our concept, we offer you a platform for further training, exchange and networking.
Thanks to the TÜV Rheinland certification of our further training measures, our participants and our institution are largely financed by education vouchers from the Federal Employment Agency. In addition, our institution receives subsidies from the City of Munich. With the growing, national reputation of our institution, there are also more and more participants who finance the courses themselves. For the past year, we have also been offering individual modules from our training courses as courses for external participants.
Our performing arts projects usually last 10-14 weeks in order to achieve sustainable continuity for our participants. We are constantly working on getting our people "fit for the market". We ourselves are always trying to develop further. We cooperate with long-standing lecturers and professionals from the Munich theater, musical theater and film scene as well as with up-and-coming talent in order to keep our finger on the pulse of the times.
While the performances of new drama used to be the heart of our training, it is now the combination of craft, presentation and media that the actors need for their networking and applications. In addition to further training and its presentations, we are also active in the field of political and performative theater with our own productions.
Our greatest successes are those of our participants who return to exciting engagements following our training - and we want to keep it that way for a long time to come.
