“Surfboards, especially, are very expensive with the consumer unable to return it after one use because they damage easily,” explains creator Noel Salas. “It makes buying such a high ticket item like this even harder. I want to use this channel to educate and inform people by reviewing and demonstrating how the products function and what they really feel like.”
And people that watch it are really soaking it up. Attracting thousands of views per video, consumers are gravitating towards Salas’ unbiased, 3rd party opinion which is paired with solid information and much needed stats.
Surf Show & Tell not only talks about the product in question but each board is also put through video testing while company claims are verified through data driven fact checks.
“I have added the company Trace up to my reviews,” says Salas. They are a GPS tracking unit that gives me analytics that goes directly on my board. I can then report back on things like the speed I am going, the degree in the turn, the distance of a wave surfed, how many waves I caught per session, how many calories burned and more.” Trace will assist me in gathering data on surfboard materials, and fins in all different types of waves and conditions to help surfers gather knowledge before they make their purchase.
