Inkcups Now develops new machine for rotary inkjet printing

Press release from: Inkcups Now Corp

Danvers, Massachusetts- printing company Inkcups Now announces the arrival of the Helix, a machine designed and manufactured by Inkcups Now team in the United States for UV inkjet printing on straight-walled and tapered cylinders. The Helix does 360 degree printing of high-quality single or multi-colored images on products- typically used for printing on drinkware, cosmetics, and industrial cylinders.
The Helix uses an all-digital process, starting with importing the image desired and selecting the quantity for production. The product is placed in a single quick-change tooling fixture designed for cylinder or tapered parts. It then uses the patented, user-friendly Helix software to balance speed and image quality by placing 7 picoliter drops of ink along the cylinder. The machine uses LED light to cure the ink, finishing the product.
The Helix operates at an average speed of approximately 4 part per minute, varying with image size, product size, and quality settings. The part diameter range is 2 inches to 4.5 inches, the cylinder length range is 3 inches to 12 inches, and the maximum print length is 4.25 inches. The Helix uses the cyan, magenta, yellow, black, and white ink palette (CMYKWW) and has a maximum resolution of 1200 by 1200 dots per inch.
The unique features and software that the Helix has allows an increase in speed and efficiency. The Helix will automatically adjust photos when printing on tapered cylinders and remember the settings to eliminate image distortion or the need to manually edit the picture. Also, the tooling fixture minimizes part setup time and eliminates the need for prepress and screen printing.
