MOL CONSOLIDATES BRANCH ACTIVITY IN SCANDINAVIA

TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL, President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced the decision to integrate all back office activities, currently carried out by Seven Seas as agent to MOL in Nordic, in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland into the established branch office of MOL Nordic. The move highlights MOL’s commitment to the region and desire to offer the most efficient service to customers.

MOL established a branch office in July 2004 to manage its Liner activities in the Nordic states of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Based in Gothenburg, MOL Nordic was initially responsible for overall management and sales & marketing of it’s services while the company’s agent SevenSeas (Lehmann Nordic) handled functions such as customer service, documentation and bookings.

“It has been agreed that we will terminate our contract with SevenSeas by 31 December 2007 and we wish to thank the company for all the hard work they have undertaken over the last few years on behalf of MOL,” commented Mark Mol, General Manager, MOL Nordic. “We are now firmly established in the Nordic region, bringing all MOL Liner business in the Region under one management enables us to directly control our business and provides us with opportunities to further improve our service rendered to our customers.”
