GoFundMe Campaign to Defend Latvian Employees from Government Harassment
Riga, Latvia - Skaal, a US-based digital services company committed to improving the economy and lifestyle of Latvian employees, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to defend its workforce against unjust government harassment.Facing unforeseen financial difficulties due to economic conditions, Skaal experienced setbacks in 2023 when major clients terminated contracts and refused payments, resulting in a significant shortfall of $30,000. Despite efforts to manage resources and cut costs, the company fell behind on taxes to the Latvian government.
The Latvian tax authority (VID) demands immediate payment of $50,000 within 60 days, threatening to confiscate personal properties of employees if not complied with. This aggressive stance jeopardizes not only the company but also the livelihoods of hardworking Latvian employees.
The goal of the fundraiser is to raise funds to pay off the tax debt and end VID's unfair policies. All donations will directly contribute to meeting the deadline and protecting employees from harassment.
"We are dedicated to supporting our Latvian employees and contributing to the economy of Latvia," said Paul Seitz, CEO of Skaal. "Your support can make a real difference in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees."
