The dedicated team led by fair director, Goetz-Ulf-Jungmichel, had comprehensively revamped the World Money Fair, held since 1972, in many respects. The results were remarkable; the fair recorded approximately 13,500 visits over the three days on its 9,000 square meter exhibition space at Berlin's Sonnenallee, a striking new attendance record. "Our goal is to further develop the World Money Fair into the world's most attractive numismatic marketplace," says Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel. "With World Money Fair 2024, we have taken a significant step towards our objective."
The fair had started for trade visitors already on February 1. In the "Technical Forum", mints and manufacturers showcased numerous innovations related to coin and medal production. The auction by the Osnabrück auction house Künker was also a big success on Thursday, achieving around 11 million euros from 770 lots of rare coins and medals - about 4 million euros more than expected.
The public fair days from Friday to Sunday were dominated by exclusive fair mintings, some of which sold out within hours. Guest nation France, in collaboration with the state mint "Monnaie de Paris", presented the multi-part series of official 2-euro commemorative coins carrying the "Paris 2024" emblem of the summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. Other highlights included the new "Live Stage" at the fair's entrance, where coin dealers and minting stations presented their latest products, beginner's advice for collectors provided by the Professional Association of the German Coin Trade, and the new "World Money Fair Club".
The World Money Fair will continue to evolve in 2025. Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel announces further innovations for the fair, which will take place again in Berlin from January 30th to February 1st, 2025: "We will adjust the duration of the fair from Thursday to Saturday and make the Technical Forum even more professional, among other things. We will also re-group the World Money Fair's themes and design a hall tour." The guest country for the coming year is Switzerland, represented by the Swiss Federal Mint Swissmint.

About the World Money Fair:
The World Money Fair is the largest coin fair globally, taking place annually in Berlin at the end of January/start of February. It is the principal guiding event of the international coin industry. Dealers, accessory providers, and auction houses from around the world present their numismatic array to collectors while state mints and private minting stations reveal their novelties. In the technology section, various machine manufacturers and suppliers to the coin industry demonstrate the entire manufacturing process for coins and medals, from circuit-board production through minting to packaging, and the associated tool technology. Since its inception in January 1972, where it was first held as the "International Coin Exchange" in Switzerland, the World Money Fair has continually evolved. Today, during the three-day exhibition, more than 300 exhibitors, including minting institutions and national banks from approximately 50 nations, present their offerings over 9,000 square meters in the Estrel Congress Center. The fair also provides an excellent opportunity for investors to learn about physical precious metals and their relevance as a valuable investment. The exhibition includes coins from numerous countries, special mintage, high-quality collector coins, exclusive fair editions, and an assortment of commemorative coins.
