“Schlossholz” which translates into “Wood from the Palace” is the historic wood from the foundation construction of the old Berlin City Palace: ancient pylons of spruce and pine as well as beams of oak, which had carried the historic building in the center of the German capital for centuries. These wooden pylons were rammed into the soil between 1680 and 1710 and supported the Berlin City Palace in the following centuries.
Today one can wear this lovely old wood with its special history and modern and timeless design as a piece of jewelry: a pendant, which is encased in solid 925 sterling silver, exists in the form of two variants: round (Round Solid 1680) and rectangular (Solid Square 1680).
Production is carried out in a specialized wood processing and jewelry production in Berlin and each piece is hand crafted and unique. From the price of 186 euros a donation of 60 euros directly benefits the reconstruction of the Berlin City Palace and the Humboldtforum (where in the future all of Berlin's main museum collections of cultural heritage and history will be unified under one roof).
Schlossholz jewelry can be found and purchased in Berlin at the Hotel Ritz Carlton, the “Humboldtbox” at the Schlossplatz near the construction site of the Berlin City Palace, or the Modulor store in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
