Imagine by Carleen establishes WISDOM Fund to provide affordable therapies

Imagine by Carleen has established the WISDOM Integrative Therapies Fund through the Cape Coral Community Foundation to provide complementary treatments on a donation basis to alleviate the side effects of cancer, cancer treatments and other conditions that compromise the immune system. The fund is named after the acronym for Weakened Immune Systems from Disease or Medication.

Esthetic and wellness treatments are available for booking at the Cape Coral-based therapeutic day spa for clients and caregivers, regardless of their ability to pay. Sponsors and donations for the WIDSOM Fund are also now being accepted.

Serious illness and the side effects of its treatment affect all aspects of the patient’s life, including emotional and psychological issues, body-image issues, and work related and financial issues. Complementary oncology esthetics and integrative therapies can provide great benefits, such as easing symptoms and skin reactions, improving skin and overall health, providing stress relief and restoring a sense of well-being. However, prime candidates for these therapies are often not able to afford them when they need them most.  

Carleen McIlveen, founder and owner of Imagine by Carleen, said, “Nurturers that we are, our team was inspired to provide these services as a love offering, but quickly realized that without the proper financial support for the program we could not help everyone with a need and stay in business.  After a few years of perseverance, the WISDOM fund has been established to assist us in providing services for anyone in this category, regardless of their ability to afford them!” 

WISDOM services include oncology facials, massage, manual lymph drainage, hand and foot treatments, scalp treatments, camouflage makeup, aromatherapy, meditation and reiki.  Services are valued at $65 per hour, but paid for strictly on a donation basis. Patients and caregivers pay what they can afford, and Imagine By Carleen, Inc. accepts donations at its 1718 Cape Coral Parkway East location from sponsors, individuals, and entities/businesses to cover expenses.
