A Special Thanksgiving Message from David Jeremiah
This Thanksgiving, let us pray with thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is the opposite of discontent. It's easy for us to become discontented and discouraged, to focus on the current situations in our world, nation, and even our own lives. But it is in these times when we most need to keep our prayers filled with thanksgiving.
When anxious about a problem, we can't be thankful for the good things around us. Jesus is our ultimate example of giving thanks in all things. Throughout His ministry on earth, the Creator of all sustenance gave thanks for simple provisions.
Instead of being anxious this time of year-focusing only on the problems-be at peace. Look around and focus with thanksgiving on all of God's good gifts.
Start by joining me in a prayer of gratitude on this day set aside specifically to give thanks.
PRAYER OF GRATITUDE
"Father, all I have comes from You. I know joy because of Your love. I know grace because of Your forgiveness. I know peace because of Your promises. I know hope because of Your imminent return. All I have, all I am, and all I've accomplished is because of You. Thank You for what You have done for me-what You continue to do in my life-what You are about to do for me! I stand in awe of Your blessings, firmly grounded in gratitude for the ways You care for me. I love You. Thank You!"
For the believer, the sheer act of counting our blessings not only grants us peace but also instills a profound sense of gratitude. What an awe-inspiring gift!
