The Treofan Group, one of the world´s leading producers of high performance polypropylene film, announces that the Group has sold its production site in Mantes-La-Ville to local entrepreneur Mr Jerome Bardini, owner of Polyfilms. The sale was completed on 02 January 2005 and, going forward, the company will operate under the name of Polyfilms. Treofan Group has also entered into a licence agreement and a toll manufacturing agreement with Polyfilms with respect to certain products, including Treofan´s biodegradable packaging film, Biophan.

The business and commercial activities of Treofan France have been transferred to Treofan Germany GmbH & Co KG, allowing Treofan to continue to serve its French customers without any disruptions in customer relations, deliveries, service or technical support.

Peter A. Briggs, CEO of the Treofan Group, states, "When we were assessing our options for exiting the Treofan site in Mantes, we defined three key objectives: It must be consistent with our strategy for realigning our global business, secure steady commercial relations and service with our existing customers in France and for Biophan customers across Europe, and furthermore we had to find the most attractive solution for our Treofan France employees. We are very pleased that through this agreement with Polyfilm and the orderly transfer of operations within the group, we have satisfied all three objectives."
