The Boston Center for Adult Education Hosts a Night with Boston Globe Film Critic Ty Burr
WHAT: On Thursday, April 14th, 2016 The Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) will offer students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to discuss the art of film with The Boston Globe’s influential film critic, Ty Burr. From 6:30PM to 8:30PM, Burr will share what makes him so passionate about film, his road to writing at The Boston Globe, and invaluable advice to writers who are interested in breaking into the world of film criticism.Before starting his position as a film critic at the Globe in 2002, Burr also worked for HBO and Entertainment Weekly. He is the author of four widely-read books, including, most recently, Gods Like Us: On Movie Stardom and Modern Fame and The 50 Movie Starter Kit: What You Need to Know if You Want to Know What You’re Talking About. With Ty Burr’s extensive experience in the film and journalism industry, this event is sure to provide a rare inside view of the inner-workings of film criticism.
