Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden Steps up to becoming Silver Certified by EarthCheck

Distinguished for its commitment to the environment, Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden has become the first five star hotel in Bangladesh to be awarded the prestigious Silver Certification by Earth Check, the world’s leading scientific benchmarking certification and advisory group for travel and tourism with more than 1300 clients in over 80 countries.

The hotel was just benchmark certified in 2012 and has successfully managed to achieve all targets in terms of reducing impact to the environment since then.

We will continue to reduce our carbon footprint and diligently contribute to making this ecosystem a clean, healthy and safe place to reside”, said Christoph Voegeli, General Manager. The team, led by him, are all geared up now to achieve gold certification.

The Green Globe initiative program practiced by Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden not only reduces carbon emission through recycling paper, switching from halogen to LED lights, reducing diesel cost, creating compost fertilizer using vegetable waste and recycling paper but also focuses on reducing water footprint by rain water harvesting.

An environment and energy saving committee meet every month to work towards creating eco-friendly awareness and to maintain paramount global standards in order to save our planet. Each department has a target set for energy saving which has been successfully achieved during 2015, the crest of the bell curve being a whopping cutback of BDT 3,390,120 worth of energy per year.
